A rhythm is a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound. Everything is moving in a state of energetic vibration. Everything has its own rhythm.
What is your rhythm?
We all have different habits of being. Routines are a natural process of following a memorized pattern and can become part of our rhythm. Our subconscious develops routines or programs for dealing with a variety of experiences in our lives. When we experience something, we apply a meaning to the experience. Our physiology is memorized including the biochemical emotions and responses that occur with the experience. When a similar experience happens, our body mind pulls up the previous response and begins to run the memorized program. In this way, we do not have to think about how to react to a situation because we have developed a routine way of responding to it.
But what if those routines no longer serve us? What if we realize that the patterned way of responding to similar situations brings us ill health? How do we begin to peel back the layers of programming and un-learn it?
- Notice your routines.
- Observe your rhythm.
- See where you are in a pattern.
- Listen to yourself.
- Be a witness to your automatic responses.
Being able to get a clear picture of your personal rhythm is one of the first steps to change. Simple becoming aware of your programmed actions will often give you enough information to make a shift towards greater wellbeing. You will do it naturally and automatically once you see what is working and what is not.
Healing Affirmation: I pay attention to my way of being, noticing patterns, habits and memorized routines. When I observe automatic responses that do not serve me, I acknowledge them without judgement or attachment. I notice healthy rhythms that encourage my wellbeing and send love and thankfulness to me for them.
